(Indianapolis) Gardner Minshew threw three touchdown passes and the Indianapolis Colts rushed for 170 yards to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-13 on Saturday.

Minshew completed 18 of 28 passes for 215 yards. He tied his career high for touchdown passes.

The team’s leading receiver Michael Pittman Jr. left the game with a concussion, starting running back Zack Moss injured his right arm and Jonathan Taylor was out of the game.

The Colts (8-6) have won five of their last six games. The Steelers (7-7) lost for the third time in a row and are now in last place in the North Division of the American Association.

“We had to win those games and we did a good job during that time,” Minshew said. I think everyone was fully engaged, the sense of urgency was there and there was attention to detail. At this stage we just want to win, but we still have to do it. »

Tyler Goodson had 69 yards on 11 carries for the Colts.

The Steelers, with backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky, took a 13-0 lead. The Colts, however, scored 30 straight points after that.

“Let’s be honest, we’re a fundamentally bad football team right now,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said. We play football to lose and I am responsible for that. I don’t really have the answers today. If I had them, we would have played differently. »

For the Colts, Trey Sermon ran the ball 17 times for 88 yards. Pittman caught four balls, for 78 yards. He’s now up to 99 catches and his second career 1,000-yard season.

Trubisky completed 16 of 23 passes for 169 yards, including one touchdown pass. He was the victim of two interceptions. The Steelers only had 74 rushing yards, and 216 total against the Colts.

Trubisky threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Diontae Johnson, and the Steelers led 13-0 early in the second quarter.

D. J. Montgomery caught a 14-yard pass for a touchdown with 22 seconds left in the first half and the Colts took a 14-13 lead.
