Soon a new boost for energy bills? Some French households could soon benefit from aid to pay their gas, electricity or fuel expenses. This measure, voted in the regional council this Wednesday, May 31, 2023, potentially concerns 160,000 households spread over eight departments of the same region. What are they ? We take stock in our slideshow below.

According to an Insee study, carried out in December 2022, energy-related inflation weighs heavily on French households. Between January 2021 and June 2022, the loss is estimated at 720 euros per household. According to our colleagues from Parisian, this device in the amount of 250 euros will be awarded subject to means. If the payment of aid will not be automatic, the latter is designed to be easy to access: there will be few supporting documents to provide, and only income is taken into account. The increase in charges and energy expenditure will not be examined.

“The ‘boost’ will be reserved for so-called ‘vulnerable’ households, whose income is less than or equal to 60% of the median regional tax income – this amounts to 24,670 euros, and is above the national median income”, specifies the Ile-de-France daily.

“The aid should concern single people whose net taxable income is equal to or less than 14,802 euros, or even couples with three children reaching a maximum of 35,525 euros in annual net taxable income”, he continues. Note: this aid can be combined with the energy voucher, distributed this spring to nearly 5.6 million households.
