Millions of people in our neighborhoods are committed to social cohesion. The nebenan.de Foundation wants to promote this and calls on neighbors, groups, clubs, municipalities and organizations to apply for the German Neighborhood Prize. Prize money of up to 5,000 euros will be awarded per project.

Are you committed to working with other committed people to create an open, lively and solidarity-based community? Then apply now with your project or initiative at www.nachbarschaftspreis.de and receive up to 5000 euros in prize money for your efforts.

Between June 6 and July 18, 2024, all committed neighbors and groups, neighborhood associations, district centers, nonprofit organizations, municipalities and social enterprises can apply online. We are looking for projects from a variety of areas – from classic neighborhood assistance to encounter projects between older and younger people. The prizes will be awarded at an awards ceremony in November in Berlin.

The main sponsor of the German Neighbourhood Prize is the German Postcode Lottery. The prize is also supported by the German Association of Cities, Diakonie Deutschland, EDEKA and Wall GmbH.

About the German Neighborhood Prize: The German Neighborhood Prize recognizes exemplary neighborhood projects in which people are committed to their local environment and strengthen togetherness. It was first launched by the nebenan.de Foundation in 2017 and is endowed with 57,000 euros. The winning projects are selected by expert juries made up of representatives of the sponsors, the previous year’s winning projects and experts from civil society.
