Montreal artist, Chih-Chien Wang, presents his first solo exhibition in the United States, a retrospective called A Bright Circle bringing together his works from the past 18 years.

The Taiwanese-born artist, who has lived in Montreal for 20 years, is well known for his photographs that draw on the sometimes abstract, sometimes figurative language of painting. His exhibition, organized with the help of the Pierre-François Ouellette contemporary art gallery, was commissioned by Érika Del Vecchio.

On the website for the exhibition at Arsenal New York, Chih-Chien Wang’s work is described as an “ode to everyday life”. “Wang leads us to view the world with a renewed sense of wonder. The wings of an insect, the petals of a flower, the peel of an orange become larger than life, revealing a world of beauty, which is right under our noses. »

Chih-Chien Wang had been chosen to create a work in the future Brossard Panama station of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM). The work titled An Endless Journey Beyond the Present is set to be revealed this summer.
