Monkey pox: the 6 regions in which cases have been reported

The monkeypox virus, also called Monkeypox, continues to spread in the territory. A few days after the appearance of the first proven case on French soil, the latest report from Public Health France reports 33 confirmed cases in France on June 1, 2022. A number which has doubled in the space of four days.

For the time being, the majority of cases recorded in Europe are mild and no deaths linked to the Monkeypox virus have been reported. This does not mean that this infection is harmless, especially in children and in immunocompromised people.

On average, this disease heals spontaneously “after 2 to 3 weeks but sometimes 4 weeks”, specifies Public Health France. Here is the list of symptoms it causes:

To fight against this virus, the High Authority for Health recommends the administration of the smallpox vaccine (3rd generation) “within 4 days after the risky contact and at most 14 days later with a two-dose schedule (or three doses in immunocompromised subjects), spaced 28 days apart, for the following cases.”
