It is an object that almost never leaves us. Whether at home, at work, in transport or even in the toilet, the mobile phone accompanies us in our daily lives, including when its use is not essential. However, the intensive use of this device exposes us to its electromagnetic waves.
“These waves are electromagnetic radiation, it is the combination of an electric field and a magnetic field which propagates in the environment and which are intended to reach radio receivers, cell phone reception antennas , television receivers, etc.”, explained René de Sèze, doctor and researcher at Ineris (National Institute for the Industrial Environment and Risks), in an interview for France Culture. However, he specifies that there are not yet any cases of “proven health risks from cell phone waves.”
To ensure this, the health authorities then established standards relating to the SAR (specific absorption rate), expressed in watts per kilo. In France, mobile phones must comply with three distinct measures:
In a press release published on November 18, and updated on November 20, the National Frequency Agency (ANFR) reveals that it has detected too high SAR values on 37 models of mobile phones. The latter, identified as potentially dangerous for the health of users, have either been withdrawn from the market, or have seen their DAS undergo a software update.
In our slideshow below, discover the list of mobile phone models identified as potentially dangerous to your health.
