(Montreal) Private equity firm Ethical Capital Partners (ECP) has acquired Montreal-based MindGeek, owner of the Pornhub website.
Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
In a press release, ECP said MindGeek is engaged in making adult entertainment content made by and for consenting adults.
The Ottawa-based finance company added that it would support MindGeek in its search for and adoption of the best online security protocols available.
MindGeek, founded in 2004, has a large portfolio of adult entertainment properties.
In its statement, the company said it looks forward to working with ECP.
