Are you ready for a new investigation? This Friday, April 14, Mask Singer is making a comeback for an unprecedented fifth season on TF1. As for the first and third edition, the game hosted by Camille Combal and produced by Hervé Hubert returns to its slot at 9:10 p.m. for a program rich in new features.
This year, the quartet of investigators was half renewed. Exit Chantal Ladesou and Vitaa who gave way to actress Michèle Bernier and singer Élodie Frégé. The two women have joined the profilers’ table where actor Kev Adams has sat since the first season, while Jeff Panacloc (accompanied by his puppet Jean-Marc) excelled in the game through his intuition and his musical ear for his first participation l last year.
With these four new fantastic Mask Singer, “it’s the season of the game. We have a team of investigators who are really in the game this year”, explains Rémi Faure, the director of the Flux Programs of the TF1 group, during of the press conference Planet attended on March 6. The least we can say is that the good atmosphere reigns between the investigators.
A new role for Michèle Bernier and her comrade Élodie Frégé, both nicknaming themselves “Sherlock and Holmes”. Before joining the jury, the actress was approached to be a candidate (like the ex-winner of Star Academy) before refusing the invitation. “We have a lot of megalomania, we don’t really like being hidden…”, jokes the sixty-year-old, admitting that she would not have “been patient enough” to stay under a costume.
However, the actress and famous friend of Mimie Mathy does not hide her pleasure by taking on the role of investigator in Mask Singer this year. “I’m more of a player… It’s very fun to do. You really get into the game”. Even if it means experiencing some frustration in seeking the identity of the stars disguised under the masks. “It’s really unbearable not to find. We want to know quickly”.
For Michèle Bernier, all means are good to crack her accomplices and collect clues, especially from her male opponents. “Kev and Jeff are quite twisted because they want to lose us with their indications,” admits the mother of actress Charlotte Gaccio. “We try to bribe, to look for clues from other investigators”.
And it is not Jeff Panacloc who will say the opposite. “I have the impression that it helps them more than we waste time giving them advice and we don’t think on our side”, confides the comedian in front of a sly Michèle Bernier. “Are we smart or not, huh?”. And no question for the new juror to continue the investigation outside filming and to cheat on the Internet. “I’m a very bad player in life, so I don’t like people who cheat. Even at Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit, it annoys me,” admits Professor Choron’s daughter with humor.
Despite the competition, Michèle Bernier has forged a great bond with her comrades who have continued to bluff her. “Kev is a talking machine, he needs to settle down and he likes the challenge”, she assures about the “Taulier”. Then, to evoke his accomplice ventriloquist. “It’s a love, but he leaves nothing. Then, with Jean-Marc, he always manages to say horrible things”, she laughs with her new comrade Élodie Frégé, both “laughing and crying”. Without forgetting a particular attention for Camille Combal who impressed him. “He is nice to us, to the public” and even “the characters”.
Surprising shows, costumes and performances… This is the recipe for a fifth edition that promises to be full of surprises for the show’s fans and investigators. “We take our eyes off it, it’s magnificent”, assures Michèle Bernier. Start of the investigation Friday evening!
