(Miami) Canada’s Bianca Andreescu reached the round of 16 at the Miami Open on Sunday, losing 6-4, 6-4 to Sofia Kenin of the United States.

The 22-year-old Ontarian got the job done in an hour and 34 minutes, leading 3-1 for breaks and 7-1 for aces.

Ranked 31st in the WTA, Andreescu reached the round of 16 in Miami for the third time in as many appearances at this tournament.

Her next rival will be Ekaterina Alexandrova or ninth-seeded Belinda Bencic.

On the men’s side, Ontario’s Denis Shapovalov takes on American Taylor Fritz.

In the next match at central, favorite Carlos Alcaraz will face Serbia’s Dusan Lujovic.
