Nico Myatovic had a goal and an assist, Jared Davidson added two assists, and the Seattle Thunderbirds beat the Peterborough Petes on Friday night, 4-1, to advance to the Memorial Cup final.

The Thunderbirds were much more aggressive in goal than the Petes, with 47 shots attempted in the game, compared to the Petes’ 28.

Michael Simpson stopped 43 shots in the game for the Petes, while Thomas Milic made 27 saves for the opposing team.

Brad Lambert opened the scoring for the Thunderbirds after 15:32 minutes into the second period, assisted by Myatovic, and Jeremy Hanzel.

The game heated up in the third period with Colton Dach adding a goal after 1:28 of play for the Thunderbirds.

Brennan Othman cut the score for the Petes just over a minute later, served well by Owen Beck.

Kyle Crnkovic gave the Thunderbirds a cushion lead for the Thunderbirds, making it 3-1, with 10:27 minutes left before the siren.

Myatovic secured victory for the Thunderbirds in an empty net, 2:09 minutes from the siren.
