(Augusta) Tiger Woods started his 25th appearance at the Masters on Thursday with a par on the first hole, all in front of a huge crowd, packed into several rows. Some spectators even stood on their tiptoes in the hope of catching a glimpse of the generational star.

Even before Woods showed up on the first tee, fans were eager to see him in action on the driving range.

A five-time tournament champion and now 47, Woods admitted earlier this week that he doesn’t know how many Masters he has left to play.

Woods, who sometimes walks with a limp, is still recovering from a car accident in a Los Angeles suburb in which he crushed his leg bones so badly that doctors considered amputation.

Woods has only participated in one PGA event this year, the Genesis Invitational Tournament. He finished 45th with a 283 record, one under par.

His last triumph at the Masters Tournament dates back to 2019.

Separately, Kevin Na, a member of the LIV Golf Tour, withdrew from the Masters Tournament due to an unspecified illness after completing the first nine holes with a score of 40.

Na is one of 18 LIV Circuit golfers to take part in the tournament at the Augusta National course.

In his career, Na has finished 12th on three occasions at the Masters, including in 2021.
