Music has a spiritual dimension for Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt. Particularly that of Chopin, which he highlights in the adaptation of his novel Madame Pylinska and the secret of Chopin, a musical show which made its debut on Quebec soil Monday evening, in Quebec.

“It is with you that I will discover the reaction of the Quebec public,” mentions the Belgian author in an interview with Le Soleil, a few hours before the show. Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt wrote Madame Pylinska and the Secret of Chopin while simultaneously working on the stage adaptation.
