Loans, elections… Everything that changes in June

June is no exception to the rule. In the coming weeks, the daily life of French women and men should experience some changes. The next deadline that should impact the greatest number is political, since it is the 2022 legislative elections.

From June 4, 2022, French people living abroad and inhabitants of French Polynesia are called to the polls. For the others, they will have to wait until June 12 to go to their polling station. A second round is scheduled for a week later, on June 19, 2022. The objective: to elect the 577 deputies to the National Assembly. To vote you must:

If you are not yet registered on the electoral lists, it is unfortunately too late.

“Article L.17 of the electoral code provides that the application for registration must be submitted no later than the sixth Friday preceding the first round of this ballot”, specifies the website of the Ministry of the Interior.

The month of June 2022 is not only synonymous with elections. It also marks the end of the 2021 tax return campaign.

The 2021 tax filing campaign is coming to an end soon. If half of the territory has already provided its tax information to the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFIP), all departments numbered from 55 to 976 must have completed their tax return for the year 2021 before Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 11:59 p.m.

From June 1, the French will be able to benefit from price transparency of the retirement savings plan (PER) and life insurance contracts.

The French will finally be able to compare the management costs of life insurance and PER. “The producers and distributors of these savings products will have to display the costs on their website, respecting a standard table established within the framework of a common agreement, under the aegis of the Ministry of the Economy”, specifies the public service website.

No more illegible costs of these contracts! From now on, subscribers will be able to know and compare “entry fees, annual fees (depending on the type of fund and management…), and one-off (arbitration, exit, transfer to another contract…)”.

Also in the banking sector, we can expect easier access to a mortgage for former cancer patients.

The law for fairer, simpler and more transparent access to the borrower insurance market was published on March 1, 2022 in the Official Journal. From June 1, 2022, it will allow former cancer and hepatitis C patients to obtain “a mortgage under the same conditions as all borrowers”, five years after their recovery, specifies the administration site. .

Regarding the medical questionnaire, it will be removed for loans of less than 200,000 euros and “whose repayment term occurs before the borrower’s 60th birthday”, reports the public service site.

After the loan, the procedure for opening a bank account will also be facilitated.

The certificate of refusal to open a bank account will soon be a thing of the past. From June 13, 2022, an implicit opt-out system will come into effect for a third party wishing to open a bank account. “Without a response from the bank contacted, within 15 days of their request, a person without an account can seize the Banque de France, providing proof of the process undertaken”, indicates the administration site.

One day after its seizure, the Banque de France “designates a banking establishment close to the applicant’s domicile or the place of his choice”.

Once designated, the establishment has three days to indicate to the customer “the documents necessary to open the account”.

If you do not have a bank card, you may have a restaurant ticket card. Make the most of it during this month of June, because its regulations will soon change.

Until June 30, 2022, it is possible to spend up to 38 euros per day, weekdays and weekends, only in restaurants. Beyond this date, this payment ceiling will be halved.

Thus, whether you are in a restaurant or in a supermarket, you will not be able to spend more than 19 euros in meal vouchers.

Attention, they are not valid on Sundays and public holidays in food shops!
