Livret A: a new increase in 2023?

The preferred placement of French women and men is likely to remain so. Indeed, the Livret A has recently undergone several successive revaluations, aimed at bringing its rate of return closer to inflation. The rise in consumer prices, which has hit the country quite hard in recent months, explained Planet not long ago, tends to considerably reduce the power of savings for all investors in France. This is why, in August 2022, the Livret A will drop from 1% to 2%, indicates Capital. The same goes for the Sustainable and Solidarity Development Booklet (LDDS). Given the undeniable interest of such a product, there is enough to make savers smile.

All the more so, continue our colleagues, as the dynamic could well prove to be sustainable. Inflation, which plays mechanically on the calculation of the rate of return of the Livret A, seems to be installed in a sustainable way and could, therefore, come to inflate the theoretical remuneration of the savings product. This does not mean that it will be profitable in August 2023…

According to Capital, which is based on the estimates of the Banque de France and the formula for calculating the yield of the Livret A, the remuneration of the savings product preferred by French women and men cannot be less than 3%, in August next year. Therefore, we must also expect a strong increase in LEP, which could exceed 6%, according to our colleagues. On good terms.
