Viewers will not see it on France 2 at the start of the school year. Laurent Ruquier broke his contract with the France Télévisions group where he had served since the 1990s. On July 4, Le Parisien revealed that the famous 60-year-old host was “cold with his management” and that he could leave the service. audience.

Following this information, partly revealed by the independent journalist Clément Garin, Laurent Ruquier spoke on Twitter, quoting the article from our colleagues. “I read a lot of information about my television future. Le Parisien seems better informed than me. Unless France 2 has decided for me…”, he reacted, continuing: “Nothing is fixed. Really. France 2, another channel, nowhere. I don’t know myself yet”.

A week later, the companion of columnist, entrepreneur and influencer Hugo Manos publicly formalized his wish to leave France 2, in a publication published on his Instagram page. “I have been working for the public service for twenty-three seasons. I would like to thank all the producers-producers and directors-directors who allowed me to chain ‘We tried everything’ (8 years of daily ), ‘We are not lying’ (15 seasons), ‘We only ask to laugh about it’ (Daily which for several years has revealed the best comedians of today), ‘Les Enfants De la TV ‘(For six seasons already and whose return to France 2 is now a big success) without forgetting ‘We are live’ which for two years will have made it possible, among other things, to reveal Philippe Caveriviere ‘, he wrote this 12 July on the social network.

The famous producer and talent scout has chained his thanks to the public who has been following him for all his years. “I especially want to thank the viewers for their trust and loyalty, constantly renewed”, before tackling the management of the channel. “This confidence, for three seasons, I no longer have from the management of France 2. It’s a shame but that’s the way it is,” now says the former presenter of Children of TV.

Faced with the channel’s decisions, telling it last month “that there would be no more Big Heads or Children of TV bonuses next season”, Laurent Ruquier chose to look to other horizons. Especially since the sexagenarian prefers to cast doubt on his TV future at the start of the school year. We explain why.

In the second part of his publication on Instagram, Laurent Ruquier remains mysterious about the rest of his projects. “As I write these words, I cannot guarantee that you will find me on another channel at the start of the school year. The deadlines are short to appear in the September program schedules already ready for the most part”, admits he to Internet users.

However, according to Le Parisien, the famous animator could “arrive at the start of the school year on the channels of the TF1 group”. A transfer that would not be at all trivial for the former presenter of Niouzes, the ephemeral program he hosted in 1995. Twenty-eight years later, he has been seen several times on the antennas of the first channel of Europe.

July 2023, Laurent Ruquier made a surprise appearance in Les 12 coups de midi on TF1. During the week of the Combat des maîtres hosted by Jean-Luc Reichmann, the host sent a video of encouragement to Paul El Kharrat, famous ex-maître de midi and member of the Big heads since 2020. “I thank him warmly for to have given me my chance at the Big Heads and to continue the adventure almost three years after the start of this adventure”, rejoiced the candidate in the face of this particular attention.

Earlier last May, it was under the costume of the lobster (sheriff) that Laurent Ruquier surprised Mask Singer fans during season 5 on TF1. Guest of an evening, the friend of Michèle Bernier had settled at the table of the investigators, depriving himself of warning one of his employers for this infidelity. “I’m not sure that Delphine Ernotte, it bothers her a lot”, quips the latter in the face of Puremédias. A spade which already foreshadowed certain tensions between the boss of France Télévisions and the host. The latter could however continue his career in another private group.

At the same time, Laurent Ruquier is also a key face of the M6 group. In 2005, he hosted Ça balance à Paris for a season on the Paris Première channel. Then, in 2014, he succeeded Philippe Bouvard at the presentation of Les Grosses têtes on RTL, a radio station belonging to the group of Nicolas de Tavernost since 2017.

The popular show, broadcast in prime time on France 2, was also offered to the faithful on Paris Première. Since October 2022, Laurent Ruquier has also held the reins of Club Première. If the host could be tempted by the two private channels, he is already giving an appointment to the public at the start of the school year on RTL. “In the meantime, I would have the joy of seeing you again at the end of August on RTL for my ninth season of Les Grosses Têtes and it will be for my great pleasure, with always the same motivation. So I say see you very soon”, he said. -he concluded his message on Instagram.
