Lady Chatterley: which stars have embodied the famous heroine on the screen?

The adaptation of an erotic novel on Netflix. This Friday, December 2, the famous video platform offers its subscribers Lady Chatterley’s Lover, the soap opera carried by English actress Emma Corrin. Taken from the work of David Herbert (D. H.) Lawrence published in 1928, it caused a scandal when it was released in the 20th century.

Almost a century later, it was the French filmmaker Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre who chose to bring this romantic heroine back to the screen. “Born into a rich and privileged background, Connie finds herself married to a man she no longer loves. When she meets Oliver, the gamekeeper of their English property, their torrid affair allows her to discover unsuspected pleasures. She must then make a decision: follow her heart or return to her husband and comply with the expectations of those around her”, reads the synopsis of the drama film.

Facing the English actress Emma Corrin (seen in the skin of Lady Diana in The Crown) who plays a new Lady, the British comedian Jack O’Connell embodies the ranger and lover of the young married woman. A new adaptation that is likely to react among fans of romances and forbidden liaisons.

This is not the first time that the work of British author (D. H.) Lawrence has been brought to the screen.
