(Calgary) Precision kicker Rene Paredes agreed to a one-year contract to remain with the Calgary Stampeders on Friday.

Paredes will begin his 13th season with the Stampeders, who signed him as a free agent in 2011.

The 38-year-old led the CFL with 52 field goals in 2023, including a 53-yarder.

Paredes has 2,129 career points, ninth in the history of the circuit in this regard.

“We are very happy to have Rene back,” said Stampeders head coach and general manager Dave Dickenson. He remains among the best in the league. We are delighted to give him the opportunity to further improve his track record. »
