(Kansas City) Isiah Pacheco had shoulder surgery and will miss Sunday’s game in New England, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Friday.

Pacheco shined with 110 rushing yards and a touchdown in Green Bay earlier this month before shoulder problems arose.

He did not practice last week, missing a loss against the Buffalo Bills.

This week he did light exercises, without being ready for contact games.

Reid said he anticipates Pacheco’s return to action on Christmas Day against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Pacheco is 12th in the NFL with 779 rushing yards this year.

In Foxborough, Kansas City will once again rely on Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon for the ground attack.

Reigning Super Bowl champions, the Chiefs have just one win in their last four games. This dropped their performance to 8-5.

Kansas City will face the Patriots who have just stopped a series of five losses.

However, the Pats lost their last three home games, including 6-0 to the Los Angeles Chargers on December 3. Their overall record is 3-10.
