It starts today: Internet users upset by the testimony of Enzo’s parents, killed “for nothing”

It starts today continues its “special justice” week. In the issue of this Tuesday, November 22, Faustine Bollaert welcomed on her set Didier and Natie, the parents of Enzo, an 18-year-old young man from Lons (Pyrénées-Atlantique), who lost his life on March 18. while trying to help an 18-year-old young woman leaving a nightclub. Enzo’s father begins his sad story by saying that his “son was killed for nothing”. With his classmates, Enzo had gone to celebrate the “father hundred”, a traditional high school party which takes place 100 days before the start of the baccalaureate, in a nightclub in Tarbes.

At the end of the evening, Enzo meets a young 18-year-old woman in tears on the sidewalk at the entrance to the nightclub. While trying to help the latter, a 19-year-old young man comes up behind and punches her violently on the head. Enzo falls and his face hits hard on the ground.

Enzo’s father deplores the sad fate of his son who found himself in spite of himself involved in an altercation. “This individual could not conclude with a girl that evening […] He left in a field of violence after this girl. He wanted to attack him, to make him pay”, explained the truck driver 55 years old. Enzo was quickly transported to Purpan hospital in Toulouse. Two days later, the young man succumbed to his injuries. “Eating from the inside”, Enzo’s mother confessed to feeling guilty for having taught her son “to be too kind, to be kind, to help people”. “Perhaps he would have passed by this girl, without stopping, and his life might have been saved,” she surmised.

A judicial investigation has been opened by the Tarbes prosecutor’s office. During his police custody, the attacker, in a state of obvious intoxication, admitted the facts. He was indicted for “aggravated fatal blow” and remanded in custody after being brought before the investigating judge. He faces up to 20 years in prison.

While waiting for the trial, Enzo’s parents wanted to come and testify on the France 2 program to raise awareness and prevent the tragedy they experienced from being repeated. Faced with this overwhelming testimony, Faustine Bollaert had a lot of trouble containing her emotions. This is also the case for Internet users who reacted strongly on Twitter via the hashtag
