There’s a big naked bike ride coming up in Toronto this weekend. But before the world-famous event, bike rental companies have a request.
“Please wipe the saddle!” says a message from Bike Share Toronto, a well-known bike rental company in the Canadian city. The Naked Bike Ride is being held there for the 20th time this weekend.
As Justin Hanna, the store’s manager, explains to TorontoCityNews, participants in the naked bike event are also allowed to rent bikes from them. “Although we don’t encourage it, we understand that some riders will use the system in this way on June 8,” says Hanna.
Nevertheless, Justin asks cyclists to wipe down their seats and handlebars after the ride “so that they are clean again for the next rider”.
On its website, World Naked Bike Ride recommends that cyclists use a seat cover. This is also where the motto of this year’s event is stated. The ride is a protest against oil consumption and pollution in cities. It is also a demonstration for the safety of cyclists and the “promotion of physical freedom for all”.
“Please get dressed after the ride,” advise the organizers of the event, which takes place in downtown Toronto on Friday. “We don’t want any problems with the police.”

The drug scene at Hamburg Central Station is becoming more and more of a problem. Measures taken by the police and politicians are not improving the situation, but are only creating new problems. Residents and restaurateurs are particularly affected.
