Around 2,000 people came to the opening of the outdoor pool. The trigger or motive for the fight remains unclear.
Officers were informed of the emergency call shortly after 7 p.m. The first emergency services to arrive encountered a “very aggressive and dynamic situation”. “There were several groups who continued to try to attack each other despite the ever-increasing police presence,” the police said. Around 60 police officers were on duty throughout the evening. Reports of breach of the peace and bodily harm were filed.
