Duke Basketball’s Patrick Ngongba II Competes for FIBA AmeriCup Gold

Incoming Duke basketball center Patrick Ngongba II, along with 2025 Blue Devil offer holder Nate Ament, will be representing the USA Basketball U18 National Team in the FIBA AmeriCup gold medal game against Argentina. The championship bout will take place at 7:10 p.m. ET Sunday in Buenos Aires.

Despite their high ratings, Ngongba and Ament have not seen significant playing time in the tournament. The U.S. team, however, has been dominant, with their closest game being an 88-66 win over Argentina in the group stage.

In the semifinal victory against Canada, Ngongba showcased his skills with a solid performance off the bench, contributing in multiple categories in just 11 minutes of play. Ament, a top recruit on Duke’s radar, also made an impact in limited minutes.

Ngongba is set to join Duke for summer school and offseason workouts, along with other talented recruits and transfers. The Blue Devils are gearing up for an exciting season with a revamped roster, including key returning players.

Stay tuned for more updates on Duke basketball’s latest additions and preparations for the upcoming season.
