Summer has already started and many vacationing families are on their way. This year, France is still popular and many tourists have decided to explore the regions of France.

Once again, it is mainly the departments located on the coast that will be the most visited. Indeed, the vacation rental platform Abritel has unveiled the top 15 of the most requested destinations on the website for the 2022 summer holidays:

Thus, Vaucluse, Dordogne and Haute-Savoie are the only departments without access to the sea or the ocean to be part of this top.

In this summer of 2022, interest in rural areas has increased significantly compared to the years preceding the start of the health crisis. Abritel thus notes an average increase of 30% of searches for these regions compared to 2019.

“After the successive confinements, we had witnessed a rush towards the countryside for many city families in search of space and calm. This trend is now part of the long term and is undoubtedly reinforced thanks to more affordable prices, in comparison with seaside rentals”, explains Xavier Rousselou, spokesperson for Abritel and Expedia.fr for consumer studies.

Some rural areas should therefore end up with many more tourists than before. Here are the top 10 trending destinations from 2019 on HomeAway.
