France is in the grip of a heat wave. While the French go on vacation, to the beach or to the mountains, the heat falls on the whole of French territory. So no respite for holidaymakers who will have to endure the heat for a few days.

According to the Météo France weather report of July 18, 2022 at 6 a.m., 15 departments are on heat wave red alert. These are the departments of Landes, Gers, Gironde, Lot-et-Garonne, Dordogne, Charente-Maritime, Charente, Deux-Sèvres, Vendée, Maine-et-Loire, Loire -Atlantic, Ille-et-Vilaine, Côtes d’Armor, Finistère and Morbihan. This red vigilance should be lifted from Tuesday morning at 6 a.m.

In addition, as indicated by the FFCC, the federation of campers, caravanners and motorhome owners, in a study on 2021, the departments of Dordogne, Morbihan, Finistère, Charente-Maritime and Vendée are among the departments where there are the most campsites.

The heat wave should certainly not last very long, but in this period of high heat, keeping cool is a feat, especially for campers in these departments.

Vacationers are not necessarily well equipped to withstand the heat. “I don’t really want to go to my bed, especially since the mobile home isn’t even air-conditioned,” explains Matthis to TF1.
