Exciting Airshow Returns to Moses Lake

The upcoming Moses Lake Airshow scheduled for June 15 and 16 at Grant County International Airport promises high-flying fun for attendees. Airshow Organizer Terry Quick shared some of the exciting features of this year’s event, which includes aircraft performances and two new competitions.

One of the highlights of this year’s airshow will be the fourth leg of the 2024 National Short Take-Off and Landing Championship Series. This competition, a first for Moses Lake, will showcase the skills of professional pilots who can take off and land in as little as 50 feet.

In addition to the STOL competition, the airshow will also feature the World Remote Control Invitational, where 10 pilots will showcase approximately 20 model planes. Five of these pilots are world champions, making it a significant event in the RC air show community.

Organizers are working to make the event accessible to all, with general admission tickets priced at $50, allowing one adult and multiple children under the age of 15. The airshow has seen significant growth since its inception in 2019, attracting attendees from across the Pacific Northwest and even from other states and countries.

With an expected attendance of 12,000 to 15,000 people this year, the airshow continues to expand its reach and appeal. Quick also mentioned plans to increase the airshow’s social media presence to attract a younger audience and ensure the event’s continued success.
