The Indian economist and philosopher Amartya Sen receives the peace prize of the German book trade. The börsenverein of the German book trade in Frankfurt announced.
“We are honoring Amartya Sen, a philosopher who sets herself apart as a thought leader for decades, with questions of global justice”, it means to justification. His Work contributed to the fight against social inequality and are as relevant today as never before.
Sen was born in 1933 in shantiniketan (West Bengal) and now lives in Cambridge (Massachusetts/USA). In 1998, he had received the Nobel prize in Economics.
