Spanish summer or Indian summer? With the approach of a potential heat wave next week, the question of the heat waves that will cross the summer is becoming more and more pressing. The trend, say many meteorologists, seems undeniably to be confirmed. “Inevitably”, even, believes Patrick Marlière, from the Agate France weather station, who answers questions from Ouest-France. “We are already almost certain that the month of July will bring dry weather, with hot and sunny days across the country. And for the moment, the month of August would start under the same auspices, even if that still requires confirmation”, he explains to our colleagues.

Such news suggests that the summer of 2022 could resemble its predecessors… This is confirmed by the expert. The season will indeed be “in the same vein as those of 2018, 2019 and 2020”. And should therefore carry the same insects as those observed then! Worse still: some might wake up earlier, due to periods of heat wave. More information about this in our slideshow, which you will find at the end of this article.

The temperatures, again underlines Ouest-France, will a priori be set to rise from the start of the weekend of July 9 and 10, 2022. The heat episode, which should concern the entire country, will in theory linger “ for ten days”, according to the meteorologist, who also fears “a potential heatwave episode” from “July 13 or 14, until July 17”. He says he fears temperatures “could approach, or even exceed, 40°C”.
