A tribute from a son to his son. On May 28, 2020, actor and comedian Guy Bedos passed away, swept away by Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 85. A few days after his death, the whole of France sent him a final farewell during his funeral at the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church in Paris.

At his funeral, his showbiz friends and loved ones expressed their love and sorrow during a moving ceremony. Like his children Nicolas and Victoria Bedos who spoke to him in front of the assembly. The director at the piano, his actress sister chanted with “rage” in front of the guests according to our colleagues from Parisian. “Life is an Italian comedy. You laugh, you cry. You cry, you laugh. You live, you die. You die, you live. Commediante. Tragediante. Life is an Italian comedy”.

Two years after his disappearance, his son Nicolas Bedos unveiled this July 15 a video where he gathered at his grave in Lumio in Corsica. A short excerpt (without any sound) in which we guess the tombstone of the actor where “Guy Bedos 1934-2020” are engraved. And, to quote in his own way the poignant words of the famous poem Tomorrow from the dawn of the playwright Victor Hugo.

“Tomorrow, at dawn, when the Balagne whitens”, he writes instead of “campaign” in reference to the region of Haute-Corse, so dear to the late actor. “I’ll leave. You see, I know you’re waiting for me. I’ll go through the maquis, I’ll go through the mountains. I can’t stay away from you any longer…”, he concluded with a black heart in legend. A sober and moving tribute already viewed more than 83,000 times on the social network.

Before discovering his burial in the video below, Nicolas Bedos spoke of this “double mourning” after losing the man of letters Jean-Loup Dabadie, who disappeared four days before his father during the pandemic. “I lived it in a very masochistic way”, he mentioned in the pages of Nice-Matin in October 2021, confiding in particular to having “watched a lot of videos”, quoted by Gala.
