For several months, France has been experiencing a worrying shortage of fuel. If the French did not have to worry at the beginning of the mobilization, it is now quite the opposite. The situation has been exacerbated by internal issues, including a strike by refinery workers that began several weeks ago. This strike led to temporary closures of some refineries, reducing fuel production in the country.

The combination of these factors has led to a fuel shortage situation in many regions of France. Motorists rushed to gas stations to fill up, creating queues and high demand for fuel. Many petrol stations were forced to close due to lack of fuel, while others had to limit the quantities of fuel sold per customer. From the first shortages, certain departments had already put restrictions in place, such as Cantal, Lozère, Aveyron or even Lot. About 10% of service stations in these departments were out of fuel.

The fuel shortage has also impacted citizens, who face higher costs for getting around and heating their homes. Public transport has increased its prices to compensate for higher fuel costs, while oil heaters have also seen their prices increase.
