Inflation does not hit all French women and men with the same fury. Those who are forced to take to the road on a daily basis know something about it: fuel prices have been constantly, for weeks if not months, rising due to this economic phenomenon, observed in all or part of the countries of the globe. Fortunately, informs La Dépêche on its site, the trend is now down. And yet, gasoline remains very expensive: the liter continues to be marketed for more than two euros.

Such rates, continue our colleagues, already incorporate the boost promised (and applied!) by the government. Without the discount, a 50-litre tank of diesel would therefore be charged around 116 euros. Only here it is: the “gasoline shield” was initially supposed to stop at the end of July 2022. It is clear that the government of Elisabeth Borne has also considered the need for road users to benefit from coverage against inflation. This is precisely why the Prime Minister has decided to extend the discount of 18 cents applied to the price of fuel at the pump. It was Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy, who was responsible for announcing the good news.
