More than one in ten service stations is currently in difficulty in France. While last fall was marked by strikes in refineries, leading to major fuel supply difficulties, history seems to be repeating itself. In protest against the pension reform carried out by the Borne government, and against the use of 49.3 to force its way through, the CGT-Chemistry orchestrated the blocking of many production sites in the four corners of the territory.

The consequences of this social movement were immediate: this Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 1 p.m., there were 12.4% of service stations in difficulty in France, according to figures from FigData. This means that the pumps in question do not have either gasoline (SP98, SP95, E10) or diesel. Note that service stations that have at least one of the types of gasoline are not considered to be out of stock. To cope with shortages, some prefectures have been forced to introduce restrictions: ban on the use of jerry cans, purchase limited to 30 liters for cars…

“In all, 48 departments have at least 10% of stations in total or partial rupture on their territory, i.e. more than half of the country”, specify our colleagues from Figaro. This situation of shortage, as was the case five months ago, presents strong disparities according to the territories. In our slideshow below, discover the service stations which list more than 20% of service stations partially or completely out of fuel.
