(Paris) The Swiss Formula 1 team Sauber will be called “Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber” in 2024, we can read in the official list of ten teams entered for next season, unveiled Friday by the International Automobile Federation (FIA ).

The exact name of the team was not yet known, although it was known that it would necessarily change since Sauber’s main partner, Alfa Romeo, had announced its departure from F1 after five years of collaboration with the Swiss stable.

The team based in Hinwil, Switzerland, will therefore bear the name of two of its sponsors already visible on the car: Stake, an Australian online casino and sports betting site, and Kick, a video streaming service which is owned by the founders of Stake and claims 22 million registered users since its launch last year.

The team will also be called Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber in 2025, according to a press release from this team, which will also remain powered by Ferrari before the arrival of Audi in 2026.

The Chinese Zhou Guanyu and the Finn Valtteri Bottas will remain the two drivers of the F1 team next year, while the Frenchman Théo Pourchaire, titled in Formula 2, will retain his role as reserve driver.
