Marcell Jansen is the new President of the football second division club, Hamburger SV. The former national player was at the members ‘ meeting against the former Treasurer Ralph Hartmann. Ex-President Jürgen Hunke withdrew his candidacy shortly before the election.

Jansen received the vote of the total Association on Saturday 799 votes, which is significantly more than the remaining counterparty Hartmann. Between 2008 and 2015, played Jansen for the HSV, and subsequently ended at the age of 29 years of his career.

“We need a performance culture in our club. It is not enough just to live in our beautiful city, but we also need to be successful,” said Jansen, and called for unity: “It must finally be brought to an end with the bearing of education.”
