(Paris) American driver Logan Sargeant will still be behind the wheel of a Williams during the 2024 Formula 1 season, the British team announced on Friday.

“Williams Racing is delighted to announce that Logan Sargeant will continue to drive for the team in the 2024 Formula 1 season,” the team wrote in its statement.

“Following his debut season with Williams Racing, which saw the 22-year-old become the first American driver to score a point in F1 in 30 years, Sargeant has demonstrated the speed necessary to perform at the highest level […] ] to consolidate his place in the Williams Racing team,” his team continues.

With this point won during the United States Grand Prix in October at the Austin circuit in Texas, Sargeant finished the season in penultimate place in the drivers’ world championship standings.

In the next season Logan Sargeant will once again team up with Thai Alexander Albon, 13th in the drivers’ standings with 27 points.
