The price of energy is rising and stocks are falling. Electricity, gas or fuel, the French have been paying a high price for a few months now and reserves could well be fragile during the winter.
Households have adopted many reflexes and tips on a daily basis to reduce their bills and follow the principle of energy sobriety that the government wanted to democratize. However, despite the best efforts in the world, some households fail to cut spending as much as they would like.
Indeed, with the return of cold weather, most families have turned their heating back on and, in some cases, it is difficult to maintain reasonable consumption. According to figures from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, 7 million homes were still poorly insulated in 2021.
However, in addition to being cold, people living in these places have higher energy expenditure than others. This is why the government has put in place new aid.
Energy renovation work is particularly expensive and this is why it is often difficult for households to take the plunge. To help them, the State had put in place several measures such as MaPrimRénov’.
Today, a new zero-rate loan is being launched by the government. “A family that has, for example, 20,000 euros for construction to switch from an oil-fired boiler to a pellet boiler will have aid of around 15,000 euros”, announced the Minister of Housing Olivier Klein at the microphone of RTL, the last Thursday, November 17.
“There is a significant remainder to be paid […]: 10,000 euros for some, often impossible to maintain, especially when we are the most modest and it is those who we want to help the best. We will therefore put in place a zero-rate loan, the eco-loan, and banks, from today, are able to offer this loan”, he continues.
This new loan will be capped at 30,000 euros and concerns all households that have already received aid from MaPrimeRénov’. This new measure should already be available from partner banks such as Banque Populaire or Caisse d’Epargne.
