If you are the beneficiary of the energy check, you could find it in your mailbox from the week of May 1, 2023. Indeed, this check is distributed each year to households with modest incomes. Thus, eligible households obtain assistance to pay their energy bills, whether for gas or electricity. No action is necessary to receive it. Discover in our slideshow below the departments where the beneficiaries will receive their check from May 2.

The 2023 energy check is on average 148.50 euros but can reach 277 euros for some households. The only conditions are to have declared your income for the year 2022 and to live in accommodation including a housing tax. It is possible to receive it by mail or to make a pre-assignment. The latter allows French people wishing to do so to automatically assign their check to their electricity or gas supplier so that it can be deducted from their bill. In this case, the confirmation is made between April 28 and May 6. For the others, the sending schedule is organized according to the departments.

Since April 21, 2023, the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion and the Ministry for Energy Transition have been responsible for distributing these vouchers. A total of 5.6 million households are eligible in 2023. A precise timetable was then put in place for sending this aid. Thus, the first week, the beneficiaries of 31 departments received their check.

For the week of May 1, 20 departments are concerned by the receipt of this aid. The campaign will end on May 30, 2023. A period of 2 to 4 days must be taken into account between the sending of the check and its receipt by the households. Some departments are divided into several zones and will be the subject of several mailings. See our slideshow below to find out if you will receive your energy check from May 2.
