Energy check 2022: the steps to follow before April 1

The 2023 energy check has been postponed due to the exceptional checks distributed. Indeed, the energy check is distributed each year from the end of March to the most precarious households to offset their energy bill. Only, this year, it comes after the exceptional energy check distributed in December and last January automatically to 40% of the households most in difficulty.

To this aid are added the wood check, for households heating with wood, and the fuel oil check, for heating oil. They can be used and stacked with the classic energy check. However, the fuel check is not sent automatically. It is necessary to make a request on the portal provided by the Ministry of Energy Transition to benefit from it. You can make this request until April 2023. However, for the 2022 energy check, you only have a few days left to complete your procedures and pay your bills with this help.

If you are a beneficiary of the classic energy check 2022, you should have received between 49 and 277 euros to help you pay for your energy expenses. Indeed, whether it is electricity, fuel oil or any fuel allowing you to heat yourself, you can pay with this energy check. You can also use it in the context of energy development work. However, you must use it before the arrival of the 2023 energy check. This arrives from April 21. The 2022 check expires on March 31, 2023 inclusive.

To use it, you can go to the online platform called Chequeenergie.gouv.fr. All you have to do is click on the heading “use my energy check online this year”. The list of services and professionals for which you can use it is available on this portal. You can also click on “automatically assign my check for next year to a supplier” to simplify your procedures for the following year. You can do this directly via your personal France Connect space.

If you do not wish to carry out your procedures online, you can send this check in paper format by post to your energy supplier. You must also send a copy of an invoice from your supplier and indicate your customer references on the back of the check.
