(Montreal) The office workers at Énergir in Montreal and Quebec have just given themselves a mandate for pressure tactics that can go as far as a strike.
They are 370, members of a local branch of the Union of Professional and Office Employees (SEPB), affiliated with the FTQ.
Gathered at two general meetings, they both rejected the latest employer offers and voted 86% in favor of a pressure action mandate that could go as far as a strike.
A possible strike would take place taking into account the provisions on the maintenance of essential services.
Wages and job security are at the heart of the dispute, the SEPB reports on Friday.
The collective agreement expired in August 2020.
