Before becoming an actress, Emmanuelle Seigner entered the world of modeling at the age of 14, as she had entrusted to our colleagues at Numéro in 2017. “I met a photographer in the Luxembourg garden when I was walking my little sister who was 7 years old. He asked me to take pictures and I found myself in an advertising campaign for Nina Ricci”.

Begins for her a nice career in this environment which lasted until her meeting with the director Jean-Luc Godard. “During the week, I went to high school, and I worked on the weekends. I took photos for a Chanel perfume with Dominique Issermann, and various other collaborations, but it was really to make ends meet. The modeling still served as a springboard for me to become an actress: often, since I was funny, I was sent to pubs”, she explained and added: “On the set of a commercial with Jean-Paul Rappeneau, I met Dominique Besnehard, who, in turn, introduced me to Jean-Luc Godard – with whom I shot Detective in stride – and Roman [Polanski]”.

In 1988, the big sister of Mathilde Seigner was chosen to interpret the role of Michelle in the film Frantic, by Roman Polanski, her future husband. “I had to match the type of actresses that Roman wanted to film. Our relationship was built after,” she said in the columns of Gala and added: “He was super young! He was a bomb , all the girls wanted to go with him”.
