Classic rock and pop from the 60s to 90s will be featured on Elisapie’s next album. For this fourth solo opus, the singer translated and performed in Inuktitut, her mother tongue, ten pieces that marked her.

Launched on Wednesday, the first single, Taimangalimaaq, is a cover of Time After Time, by Cyndi Lauper, a song linked to many memories shared with her cousin Susie.

“Cyndi Lauper was our model of a free and strong woman. The artist and the song have helped us overcome many hardships,” Elisapie said in a statement.

Each of the titles of the album Inuktitut, which will be released on September 15, is also “addressed to a loved one or linked to an intimate story that has shaped the person she is today”, continues the press release.

Following the release of the album, Elisapie will be touring across Quebec in 2024.
