Easter holidays are fast approaching. This is the perfect opportunity to get together with family or friends and relax away from home. But in times of inflation like the one the country is going through, travel becomes rarer due to the decline in household purchasing power.

This year, as Expedia and Abritel report in a press release, the trend is less towards the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, although these destinations remain particularly in demand. Thus, “the trend for these holidays is to go with the family to destinations in the hinterland. The main objective? To combine reconnection with nature, discovery of the heritage and attractions of our territories and to optimize its budget”, can -we read in the press release.

“The French are looking for options that offer good value for money to meet up and spend time outdoors and with family. Choosing these destinations also allows them to better control the transport budget because by leaving less far from home saves on gas and tolls. As a bonus, you can even take secondary roads to combine business with pleasure,” explains a spokesperson.

However, the Easter holidays are also the perfect opportunity to discover foreign destinations. And if the price is often a brake, in reality, there are many cities that it is possible to visit for less than some major French cities.
