Duke women’s basketball adds six Transports Later Missing 2020-21 Year

Duke women’s basketball has additional six transports to its 2021-22 group, trainer Kara Lawson declared Friday. The Blue Devils played only four games prior to picking from the last year, Lawson’s first as head coach, due to COVID-19 concerns. The transports are predicted to be a large element for Duke in 2021-22.

Fellow former Big 12 protects Lexi Gordon of both Texas Tech and Jordyn Oliver of Baylor are also led to Duke.

Gordon was the Lady Raiders’ second-leading scorer last year (15.7 PPG) as a rookie and is a grad move.

Also joining the Blue Devils are guard/forward Elizabeth Balogun of Louisville, centre Amaya Finklea-Guity of both Syracuse and ahead Imani Lewis of Wisconsin.

Lewis began 84 matches in three seasons in Wisconsin, averaging 15.0 points and 8.8 rebounds last season. Balogun was ACC freshman of the year for Georgia Tech in 2019, but spent his final two years in Louisville, averaging 5.8 points last season. Finklea-Guity, a graduate transfer, began 96 games using the Orange, but was at a reserve role last year, averaging 3.4 points per match.

“We wanted to become more aggressive in moving players who match how we wish to playwith,” Lawson said in a statement. “There are a few of things that we value tremendously. One is flexibility. Another is multiplayer gamers — players who could make an effect on both ends. Every one these players could do this”
