What will summer be like? If we compare the situation to that of 2022, more departments are affected by water restrictions this year, reports L’Obs. In all, according to information from the Propluvia site, areas of three departments are in crisis: Bouches-du-Rhône, Gard and Var. Here are the restrictions in place:
Other departments, if they are not in crisis, are still on alert or on heightened alert. In the first case, you cannot water your plants between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., in the second it is simply forbidden. Quoted by Agence France-Presse, whose remarks are recalled by L’Obs, the Minister for Ecological Transition Christophe Béchu explains: “France is experiencing a worrying meteorological drought. On April 1, 75% of the groundwater levels still remained below monthly normals. “Since February, my request has not changed: to anticipate the summer of 2023, the prefects must not have their hands trembling when restriction decisions are necessary”.
For the time being, a large majority of the territory is still escaping the drought alert, but some could soon switch, because they are already on alert. For the latter, no restriction, but an “incentive for individuals to save water”. Is yours concerned by this vigilance? Find out by consulting the list below.
