A “Vitale e-card” arrives in France. The precious green sesame, which centralizes all information relating to personal health insurance, should indeed be accessible on our mobile phones from next year.

This project replaces, for the time being, that of the biometric Vitale card, which is more expensive and complex to set up.

In concrete terms, you will therefore be able to access the functionalities of your Vitale card from your smartphone, and thus use it with health professionals in a few clicks, without even having to take out your wallet.

In the long term, other options will also be available, in particular the possibility of adding information relating to your health insurance to the application in question.

The project, which should be generalized to the whole territory in 2023, is starting a “test” phase this fall, where it will be deployed in eight departments. Is yours one of them? Find out in our slideshow.

If you live in one of the departments concerned, you can therefore experiment with this system on a voluntary basis. No obligation then! However, if you wish to test the “e-card” as soon as it is deployed, here is the procedure to follow:

Do not panic: the “materialized” Vitale card should not disappear anytime soon. This digital version is simply intended as a tool to simplify the lives of “connected” users, or those who simply wish to travel “lighter”.
