The life of Diane Leyre changed on the evening of December 11, 2021. Aged 24, the Parisian elected Miss Ile-de-France succeeded Amandine Petiten becoming Miss France 2022 against Floriane Bascou, her first Martinican runner-up who would represent France to Miss Universe in 2023 in the United States. An incredible springboard for the property developer, who holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

During her first steps as Miss France 2022, Diane Leyre gave her secrets to Planet on this media whirlwind. “We did six days of promotion following my coronation and we did a lot of media, around fifty. It’s a pretty busy pace”, she admitted to us in January 2022. Despite all the solicitations, the protected by Sylvie Tellier, who left her duties as director at the start of the school year, was able to find her relatives. “I was lucky all the same to have been able to spend the holidays with my family, so I had the right to a little more than ten days off”.

However, Diane Leyre has benefited from the support of her fans on each of her trips through France. “People recognize us in the street with or without a scarf. That didn’t stop me from continuing to take the metro,” she slipped to us. Like any Miss France, her reign was the year of the first times for the famous ambassador. From the red carpets to the Césars and the Cannes Film Festival, to Roland-Garros to TV shows like her participation in Fort Boyard which traumatized her, the young woman also took part in her integration trip to Saint-Martin with former Miss France.

The second part of the reign of Miss France 2022 (became a radio host in the morning of Virgin Radio) was marked by the selection of the 30 regional candidates vying for her succession. In November, Diane Leyre accompanied them with Alexia Laroche-Joubert and Cindy Fabre for the preparation trip to Guadeloupe. A few days away from giving up her title, the one who celebrated her 25th birthday this summer confided in her state of mind.

“I just accepted that that’s it, it’s the end!”, she laughs with Télé-Loisirs. “Taking stock, I realize that I have done so many things this year… I can’t do more. And then I had the chance to get through the Covid unlike the year of Clémence Botino”, before adding further. “So I leave serene even if there is the nostalgia of the first days”. A year that Diane Leyre notably shared with her 534,000 subscribers on Instagram. For the occasion, Planet returns to 10 highlights of her Miss France adventure in our slideshow.
