The Broncos chosen to perform an option clause in Miller’s contract that promises $1 million of Miller’s $17.5 million base salary for its 2021 season. The transfer engages the last year of this six-year, $114.5 million contract Miller signed in 2016.

Miller chose to Instagram to express his own joy.

“I need to be here eternally through the thick, the lean, the Super Bowl seasons, the seasons. I would like to be here indefinitely.”

The Broncos had advised Miller, who will turn 32 later this month, also Miller’s agents of this conclusion in late days. Both sides had discussed the bargain in recent weeks since Miller’s $22.2 million salary-cap charge are the highest on the team.

The Broncos simply published a picture Tuesday morning in their societal networking accounts of a grinning Miller taken immediately after the group’s Super Bowl 50 triumph with confetti falling from the background. Afterwards, the group set out a release announcing the choice.

Free agency formally opens Wednesday afternoon.

But given the prices for pass-rushers which were shown Monday on the first day of this negotiating period — nearly involving $16 million and $18 million annually — Miller’s salary falls in line with the marketplace.

On March 4, Broncos general manager George Paton said the group desired Miller back for 2021 but was nevertheless awaiting the results of an evaluation from the Parker, Colorado, police department to ascertain if Miller will be charged with a crime.

Miller has been an NFL All-Decade choice for the 2010s, was chosen to the most Guru Bowls of any Broncos participant because Hall of Famer Champ Bailey and is among 3 players in franchise history to win a Super Bowl MVP award.

His 106 career sacks direct all active gamers — J.J. Watt is next — and he’s the Broncos’ all-time pioneer in sacks and forced fumbles (25).

Miller has spent a while working outside in California because the year’s end and is totally recovered from the ankle injury that kept him from the 2020 season. He also suffered a tendon injury in his arm in practice only days before the season opener. He’d missed only 1 game in his past six seasons.

Miller was John Elway’s first draft selection since the Broncos’ top soccer decision-maker once the Broncos selected Miller No. 2 total — supporting Cam Newton — at the 2011 draft.

The 2013 year has become the only year Miller played at a match for the Broncos and wasn’t chosen to the Pro Bowl.

His Super Bowl 50 functionality is about the franchise’s short list of best person games. Among the forced fumbles was recovered for a touchdown, and another the Broncos recovered over the Carolina Panthers’ 9-yard lineup, resulting in a different Broncos touchdown four plays later.

Back in April 2020, Miller was the first NFL player to openly state he’d fought COVID-19 — he explained”I was scared as hell” — he had been among the Broncos’ top voices on social justice problems, such as writing an article for Time that shut with”Say their titles. Hands up. Do not shoot. I can not breathe.”

Asked last summer how much time he believed he’d play, Miller explained:”In case you still have a passion for this and you are doing it in a higher level, I do not believe I should even consider playing. I feel like I am in a position to contend; I feel as though I am quickly, most significantly. So long as I can keep doing this, I’m likely to playwith. … Every year I expect to play with, every drama I get to perform, I will just keep pushing, and in the end I will see how many [years] it really is and I will look up and I will be cool .”
