Death of Elizabeth II: a new photo of the queen unveiled by the royal family

On September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96. After 70 years of reign, the grandmother of princes William and Harry definitely bowed out, to the chagrin of the British people. This Monday, the funeral of the former sovereign gathered many heads of state for a total of 2000 guests at Westminster Abbey.

After an emotional first ceremony and then a long procession to Wellington’s Arch, the Queen’s coffin was finally placed in a state hearse on its way to Windsor Castle, the favorite haunt of Charles III’s mother. After a ceremony in the chapel of Saint-George, the royal family was finally able to gather in private, away from the cameras.

Who says historic day, also says extraordinary figures. According to the first estimates of the Daily Mirror, no less than 4 million viewers around the world followed the historic funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. What about the price it cost to organize such an event? As reported by Public Senate, the cost of his state funeral would be around 35 or even 40 million euros.

At the end of the day, the official account of the British royal family unveiled on Instagram a new snapshot in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. “May swarms of angels rock you with their songs. In memory of our beloved Majesty, the Queen”, can we read in the caption of the publication.

In this photo, the great-grandmother of George, Charlotte and Louis was photographed on the side of a green hill. A shot that aroused a lot of emotion in the comments. “Forever, your Majesty”, “We will miss you” or even “Our queen, rest in peace”.
