Canada will host a Davis Cup match for the first time since 2018, and for the first time in Montreal since 2012, when Dancevic, Daniel Nestor, Vasek Pospisil and Milos Raonic recorded a 4-1 victory over South Africa. South.

Canada currently sits second in the Davis Cup rankings, while South Korea is 18th.

The Canadian team won its only previous meeting against South Korea, in the 2022 round robin in Valencia, Spain. That year, Canada qualified for the quarter-finals before winning the first Davis Cup title in its history.

Since this triumph, Quebecers Félix Auger-Aliassime, Gabriel Diallo and Alexis Galarneau, as well as Pospisil, Raonic, Denis Shapovalov and Kelsey Stevenson, have defended the colors of Canada at the Davis Cup.

Canada was unable to defend its Davis Cup title last November, after being ousted by Finland in the quarterfinals of the tournament held in Spain.

The composition of the Canadian and South Korean teams for the qualifying match will be announced in January.
