Telephone unreachable and site unavailable: Socadis, one of the largest book distributors in La Belle Province, was forced to suspend “its entire activities” due to a cybersecurity problem that occurred last Sunday.

“The business is temporarily closed,” she posted on her Facebook page Tuesday. In an update Wednesday, it said its “operations are still at a standstill” and that the business would remain closed “until further notice.”

The problem noted by Socadis, which distributes in particular the works of the publishing houses Flammarion, Fides and La Pastèque, affects all of its communication systems, rendered “inaccessible”. “We cannot take any orders,” the company said.

To its customers, it said orders invoiced on December 14 had been shipped. As for those invoiced on December 15, some that could not be completed “cannot be sent at this time.”

In short, Socadis claims to work “in close collaboration with a team of experts in order to resolve the problem quickly and efficiently”.
