Covid-19: the departments where all the indicators are red

A year ago, France entered a health crisis exit regime. This “transition period”, which began on June 2, 2021, is supposed to end on July 31 next. During this phase, the Prime Minister retains a number of rights, including the right to limit travel, the possibilities of using public transport, the opening of establishments open to the public, meetings, demonstrations and gatherings. This means that the head of government can, if the health situation so requires, prohibit access to these places or limit it to certain conditions such as wearing a mask or presenting a health or vaccination pass.

While the Covid-19 epidemic continues to claim victims and the virus is on the rise again in France, a new text of law will be presented to the Council of Ministers on June 22, 2022. If this proposal will no longer contain the terms of “vaccination pass” nor “state of emergency” according to La Dépêche, its objective is to give the government the possibility of intervening in the event of a change in the health situation. And this, after the date of July 31, 2022. The spokesperson for the government, Olivia Grégoire, notably mentioned “braking measures” without giving more details.

According to data from the National Public Health Agency, nearly 80,000 new contaminations were recorded on June 12. An evolution of 286.5% in seven days. On the side of hospitalizations also, the figures are on the rise. An increase which nevertheless remains more visible in certain departments than in others. In our slideshow below, discover the list of departments that have had the worst start in the face of the resurgence of the epidemic. Planet selected territories with an incidence rate greater than 150 and hospital strain greater than 35%.
